Children’s Advocacy Center of Smith County exists to minimize the trauma children face when they have been victimized by abuse. Child victims of abuse need the careful attention of professionals trained to address their special needs.
Children’s Advocacy Center of Smith County serves children who have been physically or sexually abused or who have witnessed a violent crime. Each case is referred to the center by a law enforcement agency or Department of Family & Protective Services Child Protective Services investigator.
CAC Smith County teaches children personal safety skills, offers parents and adults tools to protect their children, provides professional training on child abuse and utililizes the Child Fatality Review Team to identify possible ways to prevent future child abuse.
