Holiday of Hope 2018

Christmas is magical at the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) of Smith County as we watch the anticipation of the season become a reality for the children we serve. This is only possible because of kind and caring people like you.

CAC has been providing programs that assist and counsel child victims of physical and sexual abuse and their families for over 21 years.  Many of our families cannot afford Christmas for their children; it’s so difficult to be a child at Christmas with no celebration to enjoy.

CAC staff members are currently screening families to identify those with the greatest needs to participate in the Holiday of Hope project.  With your help, children who have experienced the unthinkable will wake up Christmas morning to gifts and everyday necessities that will be cherished. These gifts are only for the immediate household and do not include the alleged person responsible for the abuse.

Will you adopt a family this year?

Family wish lists and information will be available by mid-October.  Each list is simple, with a few items for each child in the family.  You may use this list as a guide, but are not obligated to purchase everything on it.  We ask that all donations be delivered to CAC the week of November 12th-16th, 2018. The gifts do not need to be wrapped as we will provide the materials for the caregiver to wrap each gift.

If you prefer to send a monetary donation, we have volunteers ready to shop for the families.

We feel privileged to provide services for our families who are working to get their lives back together and gratitude for your willingness to make this Christmas possible.

Due to the influx of children, we are having to move our Holiday of Hope Program to an earlier date in order to compensate our sponsors, families and the CAC staff.

We have had such an outpouring of support from the community this year and every family in need now has a sponsor, which is incredible! Thank you to everyone who has stepped up to sponsor a family this Christmas!

All qualifying clients have been sponsored!
