Lily’s Giving Circle

Become a Monthly Donor for the CACSC!

Lily Emerson was a young woman who completed her courageous fight with cancer shortly after her 26th birthday. After a donation was made in her honor, conversations with our staff about how to recognize her life and legacy led to the creation of Lily’s Giving Circle, a monthly giving community that supports the children and families served by the Children’s Advocacy Center of Smith County.

Lily’s life reflected the heart of our mission. She loved caring for others, cultivating beautiful things, and finding purpose in service. The more we learned about Lily, the more clearly we saw the values she embodied, compassion, courage, and care, mirrored in the work of CACSC. What began as a tribute became a lasting legacy for children across Smith County.

By making a monthly recurring gift of any amount, you become a member of Lily’s Giving Circle and help make an impact all year long. Members receive monthly newsletters highlighting the work being done through CACSC, first access to special happenings and opportunities at CACSC, and updates on the difference their support makes. Members will also have their name displayed in our training room in recognition of their partnership in helping us do what is best for local children.

This is the essence of Lily Emerson’s life.

She loved life, loved working with her hands, and above all else, loved caring for the underdog.

Fitting to her name, Lily was life giving and creative, much like a garden. Things seemed to grow wherever she was near: hope, healing, and even the wildest ideas. She lived with purpose, planting love and connection wherever she went. Whether repairing an old building or encouraging a friend to keep fighting for another day, Lily saw potential everywhere.

Lily’s life reflects so much of the heart behind the Children’s Advocacy Center of Smith County. The more we have the privilege of learning her story, the more we see the parallels between the way she lived and the way we serve. She found joy in hands on work, cultivating beautiful things, and caring for those around her. She recognized purpose in each day and chose to live fully in the value and meaning it held.
